Agent 1.8 Upgrade Released

Forté has released an interim upgrade to Agent 1.8, to address two compatibility problems:

  • MSN recently changed the authentication method that email programs such as Agent must use to send outbound messages. So that our customers can continue to use Agent as their MSN email client, we have added support for the new MSN authentication method.
  • A bug in Agent 1.8 prevents it from correctly logging on to the Starband SMTP email server to send outbound email.

The upgrade is available free of charge. We recommend that all of our MSN and Starband customers download the upgrade.

It is not necessary for other customers to upgrade at this time. We suggest that others wait for the upcoming release of Agent 1.9, which will also be free.

Regards,

The Forté Team
