Forté Announces Plans for Agent 1.9

Forté announces their plan to release Agent 1.9 in the third quarter of 2001. Agent 1.9, the latest version of Forté's award winning Usenet news reader, will be free to all registered Agent users.

Agent 1.9 will introduce a Trashcan feature that allows users to logically delete messages or complete newsgroups before they are permanently deleted. When users delete a message or group, the deleted item is placed in Agent's Trashcan. Items in the Trashcan are deleted permanently when the user empties the Trashcan.

Agent 1.9 will also include fixes for several bugs that were introduced in Windows 2000 and Windows ME.

Forté is actively working on the next major release, Agent 2.0 and a list of features will be posted on the web site in the near future. The web site will allow registered Agent users worldwide to participate in the selection of new features for Agent 2.0.

Regards,

The Forté Team
